Ellen H. Helinski MS, PT, IMT.C.

Ellen Helinski MS, PT, IMT.C is a master physical therapy clinician and manual therapy educator. With over 20 years of clinical experience, her combined manual therapy approach has shattered traditional predictors of outcome in pain care, paving the way for a new generation of physical therapists.

After completing her graduate degree in physical therapy it was Ellen’s desire to help those in persistent pain that led her to pursue the field of manual therapy, a pursuit that quickly evolved from an interest to an obsession. Early in her career, Ellen studied manual therapies all over the world, taking over 100 continuing education seminars. After completing a certification in Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT), an advanced and then novel form of manual therapy, she served as the personal apprentice to the creator of IMT, Dr. Sharon Weiselfish-Giammatteo.

In her passion for teaching, Ellen recognized her true calling — teaching other physical therapists all that she had learned. With an encyclopedic depth of knowledge, Ellen’s knack for making complex and technical material easy to learn together with her laid back and engaging teaching style led to huge success as a seminar instructor. Ellen toured the globe teaching manual therapy for many years, honing her own approach.

Ellen’s private physical therapy practice opened in 2009 in the heart of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Specializing in the comprehensive care of persistent pain, Inner Bridges Physical Therapy and Wellness quickly developed a waiting list as it became known as a beacon of hope for pain patients, as well as a teaching center for those wanting to learn.

Ellen is currently on sabbatical, living in Maine with her wife and daughter while she works on her book.
